Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems – Tenure Track

Starting date:  Fall 2017

Salary:            AACSB Competitive plus generous benefits

Major duties:

•  Teach Computer Information Systems (CIS) courses that support the
department’s majors and minors ( www.wmich.edu/infosystems/academics ).

•  Conduct and publish scholarly research in peer-reviewed journals.

•  Advise and mentor students.

•  Serve on department, college and university committees as needed.

•  Appropriately maintain AACSB qualification credentials.


Minimum qualifications:

•  Doctorate in CIS, IS, MIS or related field from an AACSB accredited
institution (completion by December 31, 2017).



Desired qualifications:

•  Teaching experience with favorable student ratings.

•  Established record or strong potential for scholarly research.

•  Teaching/research field preferences:

     -  Able to teach/research in the evolving or emerging fields of
information systems (e.g., database, big data, health analytics, Internet
of Things, cloud computing, etc.).

     -  Able to teach a programming course.

About the Department: There are currently 19 full-time faculty of two
programs– Computer Information Systems (CIS) and Business Communications
(BCM).  Both programs are accredited by the Association to Advance
Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Having more than 520 undergraduate
major and minor students, the Department offers five majors, Business
Analytics (BA), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Electronic Business
Marketing (EBM), Health Informatics & Information Management (HiiM), and
Telecommunications & Information Management (TIM), and three minors,
Business Analytics (BA), Computer Information Systems (CIS), and Business
Mobile Development (BMD), as well as an MBA concentration in Computer
Information Systems.
