This Special Issue calls for research papers that investigate unique challenges and opportunities for Information Systems (IS) integration in the healthcare domain. Embracing the theme of integration, we encourage researchers to consider the various facets of integration including social, cultural and technical aspects. In addressing the theme, this special issue welcomes empirical research studies that pursue a socio-technical approach to HIS/HIT integration.
