PhD program in Information Systems – Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College

Two full PhD scholarships are available for our Ph.D. program in Information Systems at the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, CUNY starting Fall 2017. The PhD degree is jointly awarded by the Graduate Center of The City University of New York and Baruch College. It is housed by the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College. Information Systems is one of several specializations in this program. Scholarships available include a ‘five-year Graduate Center Fellowships’ that include tuition coverage, access to low-cost health care, $23,000/year stipend, and $2,000/year summer research support for the first five years in the program.

The department maintains a strong research culture with faculty publishing in top-tier journals such as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, and European Journal of Information Systems. Research interests of faculty in the department span diverse areas including e-Business, Human-Computer Interaction, agile software development methods, business analytics, Financial Information Systems, Electronic Markets, and Global Information Systems, among others. The department regularly hosts IS Research Workshops where visiting and department faculty, and PhD students present their research.

Students are accepted for Fall admission only. The deadline for receiving applications and supporting documents is January 1st, 2017. Students must submit scores from either the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) along with their applications for admission. Evidence of good scholastic ability must be demonstrated. This usually involves a graduate grade point average of 3.5 or better and/or undergraduate grade point average of 3.2 or better.
