Position
The Department of Business Information and Technology in the Fogelman College of Business & Economics at the University of Memphis is seeking qualified applicants for an Instructor position for the 2017-2018 academic year, beginning August 15, 2017. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment. Hiring is contingent on final budget approval. The instructor will teach primarily at the Memphis campus though teaching at off-campus sites may be required.

Responsibilities
Effectively delivering instruction in a variety of undergraduate and graduate management information systems (MIS) courses, evaluating student learning, participating in related department activities, advising students, and complying with all School, College, and University regulations. Instructors normally teach four 3-credit courses (12 hours) per semester, however reductions based on research productivity are considered when possible. In this position, the instructor will be responsible for teaching live and on-line sections of courses including computer applications, critical thinking, and business analytics.

Qualifications
A Ph.D. in MIS or a related discipline is strongly desired. The minimum education requirement is a master's degree in MIS or a closely related area. College teaching experience is required, and online teaching experience is desired. Also, significant related professional experience is desired.

The Fogelman College of Business & Economics has become a leading business school in the Southeast. The academic programs of the College are fully accredited by the AACSB. The College's full-time faculty of 96 serves approximately 3,165 students, with nearly 2,550 undergraduates, 550 master's students, and 65 doctoral students. The Department of Business Information and Technology has 16 full-time faculty members.
