Tenure-track faculty position in the College of Business and Management
Start date of 16 August, 2017
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) is seeking to fill a tenure track position in Management Information Systems (MIS) at the Assistant or Associate level. Ability to teach and conduct research in at least two of the following areas: Business Process Management & Innovation, Business Process Management & IT Governance, Information Systems Security, or Telecommunications; student advising; graduate project and thesis supervision; intellectual contributions leading to publications in high quality journals; and service.
QUALIFICATIONS: An earned doctorate in MIS at the time of appointment from an AACSB accredited institution; those with ABD status will be considered at the application/interviewing stage. A strong commitment to an interactive, student-centered learning environment and to serving the needs of a diverse student body consisting of both traditional and non-traditional learners is required. Commitment to teaching as the primary mission, with scholarly research as the second priority, and service as the third priority. Ability and willingness to prepare and deliver online, blended, on-campus, and off-campus courses is required. A record of high quality scholarship or evidence of the ability to produce intellectual contributions leading to publication in high quality journals is required. SAP certification or extensive knowledge of SAP with interest in pursuing SAP certification is required. Instructional assignments will include delivery of MIS courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Ability and willingness to prepare for and deliver online, blended, on-campus, and off-campus courses is required. This individual will be expected to produce intellectual contributions that lead to publications in high quality journals. While teaching, advising, and scholarship are the main duties, service is also required.
The MS in MIS online degree program at UIS is consistently ranked among the best online programs and was ranked 17th out of 89 degree programs by U.S. News & World Report in January 2015. College of Business and Management and all of its degree programs and certificates are AACSB accredited. The College is a member of SAP University Alliances. MIS faculty members have access to many software and instructional resources.
