(tenure track position)

Drake University's College of Business and Public Administration invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Business Analytics.   This position offers the opportunity to be a part of the development of the new cross-college data analytics program at Drake.  Essential functions include teaching at the undergraduate and MBA levels and advancing the profession through scholarship, outreach, and service. The course assignments for this position focus on probability, descriptive and predictive analytics, generalized linear models, and data mining.  Software employed in the classes includes R, SAS and Tableau.  Appointment becomes effective August 2017.

Applicants are expected to have a PhD, or be in the later stages of completing a dissertation in statistics, data science, business analytics, or a related field and must be able to provide evidence of teaching effectiveness and scholarly productivity.  Preference will be given to candidates with exceptional undergraduate and graduate teaching performance, an established publication record and analytics work or consulting experience.

The College of Business and Public Administration serves over 1100 undergraduate students and over 150 graduate students with 48 full time faculty members.  The college has strong ties with the local community with nearly 90% of students having an internship experience during their program.  The newly established department of Information Management and Business Analytics is a seven member department with professors in Information Systems, Statistics, and Operations Management. The group oversees degrees in Information Systems and Data Analytics.
