RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION, Lero Software Research Centre, NUI Galway.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed-term position as a Research Assistant with Lero at the National University of Ireland, Galway.  This position is available from February 2017 for 12 months.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate will work with the Lero group at NUI Galway and will perform a variety of duties across a number of research projects in areas such as open innovation, agile and lean methods, crowdsourcing, and design science.  The post holder will report to Professor Kieran Conboy.

DUTIES: The research assistant will participate in research activities and undertaking tasks such as assisting in the development and submission of funding proposals, project documentation, literature review(s), data collection, evaluation, assisting with the organising of workshops/seminars and contributing to the dissemination of results.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Candidates should have completed a postgraduate degree in information systems, software engineering or another related field.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
•         Candidates should have a strong academic record, and good IT skills.
•         Ideal candidates will be professional, highly motivated, and able to work effectively in a team environment, have an abundance of creativity, and have enthusiasm for research.
•         Evidence of strong analytical skills, writing, and organisational abilities are important prerequisites.

Employment permit restrictions apply for this category of post.

SALARY: €21,850 to €32,930 per annum.
START DATE: The position is available from February 2017.
