OVERVIEW

Isenberg's Ph.D. program in Information Systems (IS) is a multidisciplinary, residential program that prepares students for an academic career of scholarly research and university-level teaching. From studying IS implementations and strategy, to human-computer interaction and social media design, doctoral students explore real-world IS problems using a variety of methods, including analytics, qualitative, and empirical. Doctoral students receive full funding, including a tuition waiver and stipend, for 4-5 years.  

The IS Ph.D. program fosters creative thinking and a practical, problem-solving approach to behavioral and strategic issues commonly addressed in the field of information systems. Our program is collaborative and is currently supported by five, actively researching tenure track IS faculty, with two new faculty starting in the fall. The IS faculty conduct research in the following areas:

 - Website design and signaling; Online consumer impulsiveness
 - B2C electronic commerce strategy
 - Social media capabilities and affordances; online identity management
 - Societal impacts of IS; Green IS
 - Enterprise systems adoption and post-adoption diffusion behaviors
 - Human-computer interaction; decision support systems and online decision-making
 - Big data analytics use and strategy
 - Healthcare systems implementation and use
