Doctoral Student (with Scholarship) Position in Information Systems in the area of ICT Enabled Services, Digital Services, Cyber Physical Systems and Services (CPSS).

Thie CPSS research group focuses on development and design of cyber-physical systems and services, value co-creation for different stakeholders of CPSS, value co-creation behaviour and modes of contribution by stakeholders, value creation and destruction in CPSS, value modelling for CPSS, CPSS user/consumer/customer behaviour, technostress, privacy issues related to the use and development of CPSS, CPSS ecosystems and business models, open Innovation in CPSS, and cyber-physical behaviour change support systems.

About Information Systems and the Faculty of Information Technology

The information systems (IS) research area includes three research groups, namely CPSS, Information Security Management, and Software Business. Faculty members of the department have published their research in leading Information Systems journals, such as MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, and leading journals in service research and service science such as Journal of Service Research. Faculty members hold editorial positions in reputable IS and service research journals. The IS research groups have very strong connections to industry. Data collection opportunities are outstanding. The Faculty of Information Technology aims to be one of the leading research institutions in Finland and Europe in the field of information systems. The profile and the competence of the doctoral student must be at such a level that it supports the achievement of this goal. 

The faculty of IT welcomes every year 200+ IS undergraduate and graduate students (acceptance rate ca. 15%) in addition to the 10-12 doctoral students recruited on annual basis. Currently, we have ca. 35 IS faculty and staff from ten or so countries. IS Master’s degree programme is offered for international students.

Jyvaskyla is located in Central Finland in the western part of the Finnish Lakeland. It is the largest city in central Finland. The hilly terrain in Jyvaskyla is surrounded by hundreds of lakes. University of Jyväskylä is a research oriented university and information systems has been taught at the university since 1967.
