CIbSE (formerly IDEAS) is the leading Ibero-American research forum on
Software Engineering. The main objective of this conference is to promote
high-quality scientific research in Ibero-American countries, thus
supporting the researchers in this community in publishing and discussing
their work, in addition to fostering collaboration and cross-fertilization
among research initiatives. Building on the experience of 19 successful
previous editions, CIbSE 2017 will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in
conjunction with the International Conference on Software Engineering
(ICSE).

This year, besides the conference main tracks, a Doctoral Symposium is
organized to discuss work in progress on Software Engineering during PhD
programs.

PAPER SUBMISSION

Doctoral Symposium papers comprehend those describing PhD work in progress.
They should be single-author publications, thus the supervisors’ name
should not be included. The paper should:

- Introduce the field of research and identify the main challenges related
to it.

- Clearly formulate the research questions and objectives, justifying why
they were chosen.

- Outline the current knowledge of the problem domain, as well as the state
of existing solutions.

- Sketch the research methodology that is being applied.

- Introduce the proposed solution and the results achieved so far.

- State in what aspects the suggested solution is different or better as
compared to existing approaches.

- Indicate the outstanding issues and describe the next steps that are
planned.

- Provide a list of references

All papers must be submitted through the EasyChair submission system (
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cibse2017icse2017), using PDF
format only. Submissions must be written in English, Portuguese, or
Spanish. Moreover, the papers should not exceed 8 pages and must be
formatted according to the LNCS style. Authors of accepted DS papers must
register by the camera-ready deadline. One registration corresponds to only
one paper.

We plan to have three DS sessions, one for each of the conference’s tracks,
namely:

* SET - Software Engineering Track

* WER - Requirements Engineering Track

* ESELAW - Experimental Software Engineering Track

The reviewers will be selected accordingly. The program chairs for each
track are:

SET PROGRAM CHAIRS

Ana Moreira, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal

Jesús García Molina, Universidad de Murcia, España

WER PROGRAM CHAIRS

Isabel Sofia Brito, Polytechnic Institute of Beja, Portugal

Jose Luis de la Vara, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain

ESELAW PROGRAM CHAIRS

Fabio Q. B. da Silva, Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil

Marcela Genero, University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain
