OVERVIEW
The IFIP EGOV-EPART conference will be held from Monday, September 4 to Thursday, September 7, 2017 under the local auspices of the ITMO University, St. Petersburg, Russia (http://en.ifmo.ru/en/). ITMO University in Saint Petersburg is a renowned State University and is one of Russia's National Research Universities. The pre-conference PhD colloquium will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017.  The 2017 edition of the highly-ranked annual IFIP WG 8.5 conference hosts five topical tracks. Two general tracks maintain the tradition of the previous successful EGOV and EPART conferences, whereas for some time three special-topics tracks have successfully expanded and complemented the reach and scope of the annual IFIP WG 8.5 conference. The five tracks are

- The General E-Government Track,

-The General eParticipation Track,

-The Open Government & Open and Big Data Track,

-The Policy Modeling and Policy Informatics Track, and

-The Smart Governance, Smart Government, & Smart Cities Track.

WORKSHOPS AND PANELS
We welcome workshops and panels on topics in e-government and e-participation research and, practice. Workshops are half- or full-day events intended to offer interactive sessions, in which the workshop host and participants discuss and engage in activities designed to facilitate joint learning and further exploration of a particular subject. Panels typically discuss a topic among experts in this area for an audience.
Workshop and panels proposals may address themes or topics related to any of the tracks for the conference. The proposal for a workshop or panel submission should be approximately 2 to 4 pages. Please include information about the theme and goals of the workshop or panel, a summary of the topic, a description of the interest for conference attendees should be included. Proposal should include information about the expertise of the participants.


PhD COLLOQUIUM
Prior to the conference, a PhD student colloquium will be held providing an international forum for doctoral students under the guidance of senior scholars for presenting their work, networking opportunities and cross-disciplinary inspiration.

DEADLINES
Submission of workshop/panel/poster/PhD colloquium contributions - March 15, 2017
Notification of acceptance/rejection decisions for papers, workshops/panels/posters/PhD colloquium contributions - April 1, 2017
Camera-ready papers of all types of papers - May 20, 2017 - no extensions can be granted to ensure availability of proceedings at the conference
