Position Summary
The College of Business at Arkansas Tech University has a faculty opening for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position to teach undergraduate courses in business statistics, business data analytics, marketing research analytics, management logistics and related areas with a starting date of August 14, 2017. The College is accredited by AACSB-International and offers a bachelor’s degree with majors in Accounting, Business Data Analytics, Economics & Finance, and Management & Marketing as well as offering an MBA program.  Arkansas Tech offers an attractive fringe benefit package including medical, dental, and life insurance and participation in TIAA-CREF retirement plans. The typical full-time course load is 21 credit hours/academic year (4:3 or 3:4 load).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the College of Business.|
Effectively advise students.
Engage students in high impact learning practices.
Develop a sustainable scholarship program including seeking external funds to support the program.
Provide impactful departmental, college, university, and professional service to the university, community and state.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge – understanding of academic discipline and teaching pedagogy, utilize a wide range of software and applied techniques related to statistics and data analytics;
Skills – organization, leadership, communication;
Abilities – responsive, collegial

Required qualifications:
Ph.D. (or ABD with completion prior to February 15, 2018) in Business Analytics, Data Sciences, Information Systems or closely related business field from a regionally accredited institution.
Ability to develop a sustainable research program that could incorporate undergraduate students.
Excellent oral & written communication skills.
Programming and database skills.

Preferred qualifications:
Terminal degree from an AACSB- or ABET-accredited institution.
Evidence of teaching excellence at the university level and commitment to continuous improvement in teaching, mentoring, and working with undergraduate and graduate students.
Experience with online instruction.
Record of scholarly activity and strong research interests in business data analytics.
Commitment to creating and fostering industry relationships.
Evidence of consulting relating to business data analytics.
Demonstrated abilities in logistics and supply chain management.
