The Management, Information Systems, and Quantitative Methods (MISQ) Department of the Collat School of Business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks applicants for a tenure-track, open rank (preference for assistant rank) faculty member in Information Systems to begin Fall 2018. Rank and tenure will be commensurate with qualifications.

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field from an AACSB accredited institution, and demonstrate an ability to maintain a strong record of research and scholarship. Applicants that have yet to earn their doctorate will be considered, but must have successfully defended their dissertation prior to beginning employment. Teaching experience and interests is open; however, candidates with an interest in Business Analytics or Data Management, especially in the context of health systems, or Mobile Applications are encouraged to apply and will find outstanding opportunities to teach and conduct research in these areas at UAB.

The Information Systems (IS) group within the department has a variety of research interests, including: social media, information security and privacy, open innovation, online communities, entrepreneurship, and mobile devices. While high quality peer-reviewed research is emphasized, the university administration is also supportive of other research activities and cross-disciplinary collaborations across the university and with the business community.
