Simulation for Education (*Sim4edu.com*) is a new project website that
supports web-based simulation with open source technologies for science
and education at http://sim4edu.com

Sim4edu provides both simulation *technologies* and an educational
simulation *example library*. Its goal is to support various styles of
modeling and simulation, including discrete event simulation,
agent-based simulation, Cellular Automata models and NetLogo-style grid
space models.

As opposed to traditional simulation technologies, web-based
simulations, typically implemented with JavaScript, can be executed in
any web browser, not just on desktop computers, but also on mobile
devices like tablets and smartphones. This allows sharing simulations by
means of simple web links and makes them easily accessible to anyone
anywhere.

Anyone who is working towards the same goal of supporting web-based
simulation for open science and education is welcome to join our Sim4edu
project (contact me at G.Wagner at b-tu.de).
