Hi,

Loyola University Maryland's Sellinger School of Business Department of Information Systems, Law, and Operations invites applicants for two tenure track positions at the Assistant or Associate level beginning in Fall 2018. One position has been earmarked for someone with cybersecurity expertise who can also teach programming (Java/Python/R) while a second position seems someone to teach more general IS courses in the area of systems analysis and design, analytics, and programming (Java/Python/R).

Candidates must possess a doctorate (or be ABD) in information systems from an AACSB accredited school. If the doctorate was obtained more than 5 years ago, candidates must be considered a Scholarly Academic (SA) by having at least three blind, peer-reviewed scholarly journal publications within the past five years as defined for AACSB accreditation purposes.

Candidates must also provide evidence of teaching effectiveness and a well-defined research program. Candidates seeking to join as an associate professor should have an established publication record with strong evidence of teaching effectiveness and service to the field and their university.

The typical course load includes 6 semester-length classes per academic year with a one course reduction each year for the first two years. Competitive summer research grants are also available. Applicants will be expected to teach courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs including the MBA and MS in Data Science. Courses are offered in hybrid, fully online, and face-to-face formats. Our department has over 300 IS majors/IS minors and an active IS advisory board comprising CIOs and other senior IT executives from companies such as Underarmour, Stanley Black & Decker, McCormick, Sogeti, Northrop Grumman, T Rowe Price, PWC, Accenture, and more.

Research expectations are realistic and high quality research is strongly encouraged and supported. An appreciation for the importance of education in the Jesuit tradition is also desirable.

Links to each position is presented below. We plan to interview at AMCIS in Boston, and potentially at Informs and DSI. Where necessary, we can also conduct online interviews.
