Four Faculty Positions at Baylor University

The Department of Information Systems at the Hankamer School of Business, Baylor University, is accepting applications for three tenure-track faculty positions and one clinical (non-tenure track) faculty position to begin in Fall, 2018. Preliminary interviews will be held at the AMCIS conference in August in Boston.


Assistant to Associate Professor in MIS

All areas of teaching and research focus will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated potential for teaching in one or more of the technical areas of information systems -- programming, systems analysis and design, database, or information security -- and publishing high quality research relevant to the field.

Qualifications. Candidates should possess, or expect to earn before beginning their appointment, a doctorate in Information Systems or a related field. While prior industry experience is not mandatory, it is preferable. Candidates should demonstrate a record of high-quality research or research promise.

Clinical Assistant Professor of QBA

The primary mission of this non-tenure track position is teaching where the candidate selected may be asked to teach primarily undergraduate service courses taken by all business majors in quantitative business analysis and business analytics.

Qualifications. Qualified applicants should possess either a master's degree or PhD in statistics, business analytics, management science, operations research, or a related business or technical discipline and should demonstrate evidence of teaching excellence in the Quantitative Business Analysis field. While prior industry experience is not mandatory, it is preferable. While research is not the primary mission of this position, preference will also be given to candidates with a demonstrated record of research or research promise.

The tenure-track positon in Business Analytics is fully funded today. The other three positions are contingent upon final budgetary approval (expected before AMCIS).

The Information Systems Department has 27 fulltime faculty supporting three fulltime MIS degrees (BBA, MSIS, and PhD) as well as business school service courses in quantitative business analysis (QBA), MIS, and business communications.
