Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Apologies for cross listing

AIS SIGGTM is delighted to invite you to participate in the Grounded Theory Methodology Clinic held as a part of the Professional Development Symposium under the aegis of the 2017 Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) to be held in Boston, MA, US, on August 12, 2017, between 1:30 to 3:00 pm.

The SIGGTM aims to offer this GTM "clinic", to further SIGGTM's mission of facilitating the design and execution of high quality GTM research and publication. The clinic will seek to both strengthen participants' theoretical knowledge of GTM and provide practical guidance on writing and publication of rigorous GTM research.

The participants would be matched with mentors with experience in publishing and reviewing GTM research. The two co-chairs will also serve as mentors. Each set of participants would then participate in a round table workshop, where

a. The participants would briefly present their research and the specific issues (5-10 minutes per participant).
b. The group would seek to resolve these issues through a focused discussion led by the assigned mentor, who has extensive experience and expertise in GTM (10 -15 min).
c. Each group will have a maximum of 3 participants and one assigned mentor.

Participants are expected submit an extended abstract (no more than 1000 words). The abstract should provide a) an overview of the particular research project (e.g. research objective and approach), b) the form of GTM they are using (e.g. Glaserian, Straussian, etc.), and c) the specific issues or problems they face for a particular research project.

Interested participants should submit their abstract to the following email: aissiggtm at gmail.com<mailto:aissiggtm at gmail.com>. The submission should be sent no later than July 21st. Given the limited space and time for the workshop, the participants will be selected based on the order of their submission and the appropriateness of their GTM related problems. The participants will be notified by July 28th. This GTM clinic will not require any additional registration other than for the AMCIS conference.

Please write to nsu at ivey.ca<mailto:nsu at ivey.ca> or schakraborty at towson.edu<mailto:schakraborty at towson.edu> if any clarification is required. Thank you.

Best regards,

Ning Su, Ivey Business School
