Position: Eminent Scholar Chair

Rank:  This search is to be filled at the level of associate or full
professor.

Assignment: To engage in scholarly research leading to publication in top
tier journals, to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, to
provide leadership to doctoral students and to develop program's external
visibility. Preference will be given to candidates who have expertise in
Business Analytics, Big Data, Quantitative Analysis, Research Methods,
Information Assurance, Networking or Telecommunications. Expertise in other
areas will also be considered.

Position Status:  Subject to final budgetary approval, effective September
1, 2017.  



Qualifications: These chairs  will be filled by individuals who have
combined research/scholarly and teaching/educational foci in which the
research/scholarly focus is pre-eminent. The standards which will be
expected to meet and which will be used to evaluate applicants are:

1.	a national/international reputation as an eminent scholar and/or
teacher within his/her discipline.
2.	a record of prominent leadership roles on such entities as editorial
boards, advisory boards, and/or professional organizations.
3.	an outstanding publication record.
4.	a record of external research or recognition for innovation in
teaching and development of grants and awards.

College of Business: The graduate and undergraduate programs are fully
accredited by AACSB International. The College also offers the only doctoral
program in the northern part of Louisiana and has been designated as an Area
of University Excellence.  The college offers BS, MBA, DBA, and Graduate
Certificate Programs in Information Assurance and Communication Systems. The
College is a National Center of Academic Excellence in both Cyber Defense
Education and Cyber Defense Research.  

Locale:  Louisiana Tech University is a medium-sized university
(approximately 11,000 students) whose College of Business is located in a
three year old, state-of-the-art facility with an expansion currently under
construction.  Located in Ruston, Louisiana, the University is part of
growing, pleasant community offering excellent family living conditions,
quality schools and medical facilities.  Ruston is on Interstate 20, thirty
miles west of Monroe and sixty-five miles east of Shreveport. Louisiana Tech
