The Association for Information Systems Special Interest Group on Decision Support and Analytics (SIGDSA) is seeking forward-thinking research in the areas of data analytics and business intelligence, with a special focus on understanding the applications and issues associated with harnessing the power of analytics for organizational and societal transformations.
As businesses continue to derive value from data analytics, the explosive growth in big data, fueled in part, by the digital ubiquity of the Internet of Things (IoT) presents new opportunities and challenges. Research is needed to examine the role of data and analytics in enabling IT convergence, understand how to develop and monetize analytic capabilities, and study the evolution of new business models that may transform organizations and societies by leveraging data and analytics.
This research track aims to promote both theoretical and empirical studies in the areas of data analytics and decision support. We seek comprehensive completed research as well as early stage research-in-process (RIP) papers on topics including, but not limited to:
      1) Data and analytics in the gig economy
      2) Innovative decision support tools and techniques
      3) Decision making, behaviors & decision models for data-driven business
      4) Data analytics technologies and applications
      5) Consequences of algorithmic decision-making
      6) Privacy and ethical considerations in the use of data and analytics
      7) Data and analytics for diverse societal applications, e.g., smart cities, smart and connected communities, smart health, smart energy management
      8) Data and analytics in shaping public policy
      9) Collaborative analytics
      10) Data and analytics impact on the labor market and employment
      11) Data analytics and business intelligence theory
      12) Data analytics & decision making in various business sectors, e.g., financial services, hi-tech manufacturing, retail, pharmaceutical, healthcare, government, agribusiness, hospitality and entertainment, transportation and logistics
