Tenure track position in Software Engineering (1-2 positions)   in Tampere University of Technology, Finland.

Pursuing excellence, The Faculty of Computing and Electrical Engineering is an international, diverse and multidisciplinary community of researchers and students. The topical research covers the essential ingredients of building the future digital society with solutions that are groundbreaking and designed understanding the human needs. The position will be placed in the Laboratory of Pervasive Computing, which is a fostering multinational academic unit with strong research and education competence in the areas of computer and software engineering and networking. A notable part of education in MSc level is given in English. A distinctive feature of the laboratory is that it has wide-spread impact on the community through industrial and research cooperation.

Applications are invited for 1-2 tenure track positions in the broad field of Software Engineering. Preferred fields of competence may include, but are not limited to, software design, software development methodologies and processes, software development practices, software project management, requirements engineering, software configuration, deployment, testing, software robotics as well as learning and intelligent systems in software development.

The application domains can be found in many areas, examples being intelligent web-based data-centric systems and embedded systems combining different technologies and practices across multiple disciplines. Such systems are covered by two of the strategic focus areas of TUT: digital operating environment and intelligent machines. The systems are typically characterized with large system and users scale, reactivity, reliability, security and safety constraints. An excellent example are autonomous ships, in which Rolls-Royce and TUT have established strategic partnership (http://bit.ly/2rvnr76).

Based on the experience and competence, the successful candidate will be placed at the level of Assistant Professor (1st term or 2nd term) or Associate Professor.
