TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS

The School of Business at Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Information Systems at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with an expected start date of August 2018. Of particular interest are applicants with backgrounds in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Social Computing, Business Process Management and/or Decision Sciences. This position is part of the School’s strategic plan of hiring three to five faculty members annually over the next few years. The position is available immediately and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Successful candidates will possess a PhD in Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Science, or other related discipline. The degree must be completed before August 2018. A strong trajectory of future, top-tier publications is a key selection criteria.

Information Systems faculty at the school are active in research involving design science, social network analysis, collective intelligence, and process innovation. Candidates are expected to complement and enhance the research activities of the school with their own scholarly activities, advise Ph.D. students, and are expected to publish in top-tier journals. Successful candidates are expected to teach in our graduate and undergraduate programs in Information Systems and/or Business Intelligence & Analytics. The university offers a competitive teaching load and excellent support for faculty research.

Stevens’ offers Information Systems degrees at the graduate, undergraduate and PhD level. The MS in Information Systems is the largest program in the School of Business and consists of courses on emerging information technologies, business process innovation, IT strategy and IS architectures as well as concentrations in business intelligence and analytics, process and service innovation, and project management. Successful candidates are expected to focus on developing strong research programs, while also participating in curricular development, student advising and the program’s robust series of public events.

The School of Business at Stevens Institute of Technology has a special focus on information systems, analytics, and finance, and encourages interdisciplinary research. The school is AACSB accredited and offers two PhDs in Business Administration and Financial Engineering, two MBAs, nine Masters degrees, and undergraduate degrees in Business as well as Quantitative Finance.
