Introduction
The changing business environment and advancement of information technology have fundamentally reshaped the traditional information landscape in our contemporary society, urging companies to seek innovative ways to diffuse and manage information assets in a global scale. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the new methodologies and common practices that organizations have been utilizing to leverage their information assets in a global scale. In this regard, global information diffusion and management is of great importance for organizations to improve their ability to facilitate and streamline information and knowledge-related processes to enhance their competitive advantages. In the fields of information studies, information systems, information management, etc., there exists a need for an edited collection of original research in this area.


Objective
This book will aim to understand the adoption, development, implementation, and impact of contemporary global information management initiatives in organizations to fulfill the mission of information diffusion and management in a broader context. The scope of the special issue includes global information management theories, technologies, methodologies, policies, and strategies for advancing global information diffusion, and perspectives and practices of organizations that adopt modern information management initiatives for information diffusion purposes. It is open to theoretical, empirical, case study, and other applicable methodologies.


Target Audience
The target audience of this book will consist of professionals and researchers working in the field of global information management in various disciplines, such as library and information science, communication science, administrative sciences and management, education, sociology, psychology, computer science, and information technology. In addition, the book will provide researchers and practitioners with valuable insights and guidelines for advancing the expertise, knowledge, information, and organizational development in diverse fields of global information management.

Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before November 15, 2017, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by November 16, 2017, about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by November 20, 2017, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions athttp://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project. 

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication,"Global Information Diffusion and Management in Contemporary Society". All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.
