Baker College Professional Services, Inc. seeks to hire an individual to be
assigned to the position of FACULTY – INFORMATION SYSTEMS (FULL-TIME) for
the benefit of and to be located at Baker College Center for Graduate
Studies.

Location: Baker College Center for Graduate Studies
Compensation: Salary based on education, experience, and existing wage
rates paid for similar positions within Baker College Professional
Services, Inc. Full benefit package
Start Date: January 15, 2018
Reports To: Dean
Work Schedule: Standard-Academic Contract, evening and weekend hours will
be required

General Statement of Duties:
The cyclical nature of teaching and learning is the foundation of duties
for Baker College’s faculty. To strive for continual improvement of student
success, faculty members must plan an optimal learning environment; provide
high quality instruction; assess themselves, their students, and their
teaching techniques in order to foster teaching effectiveness; continue
their own professional development and maintain their discipline skill and
knowledge expertise.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
• Possess a Doctoral degree in Information Science and Technology, Computer
Information Systems, Management Information Systems
• Hold a closely related Doctoral degree and demonstrate expertise and
currency in the assigned discipline through active participation in
scholarly activities including conference presentations and publishing
• Experience in teaching online courses preferred
• Experience in curriculum development for online courses preferred
• Experience with assessment of student outcomes preferred
• Experience in integrating technology into classroom teaching preferred
• Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps
• Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to lift and maneuver independently up to 25 lbs.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Manage class and learning environments: teach a specified number of
classes, submit grades on time, and provide constructive student feedback,
and utilize the College’s Learning Management System in accordance with the
usage expectations
• Deliver effective instruction: assume primary responsibility and exercise
oversight of the required curriculum, ensuring both rigor for
course/program and the quality of instruction, design and support a range
of learning activities to engage all learners, and use technology
appropriate to the nature and objectives of the course/program outcomes and
communicate clearly the expectations concerning the use to students
• Assess student learning: complete Direct Measure Assessments, use a
variety of techniques to assess student learning, participate in course and
program learning assessment results analyses, communicate assessment
results to students regularly and identify learning opportunities for
students
• Maintain professional expertise and or professional proficiencies: pursue
professional development, stay current in academic fields, e.g., belonging
to professional societies, participating in pedagogical professional
development, attending conferences, working or volunteering in the field,
maintain required professional credentials, licensing, and continuing
education hours as discipline standard dictates
• Provide service to the program: participate in curriculum development,
attend campus and system events, participate in off-campus community
oriented events, and mentoring others
• Engage in scholarly activities (as determined by program requirements)
examples include: engage in course or program level action research, secure
and utilize internal grants, present at local or national conference, serve
as an invited lecturer, author publication(s), and support student success
• Other duties as assigned

Addendum: Program/Discipline/Department Specific Responsibilities
• Teach information systems courses online, 24 semester credits per
academic year
• Develop, review, and revise curriculum
• Submit and analyze student learning assessment data to drive continuous
improvement
• Engage in scholarly activities by conducting research, publishing
academic papers and presenting at local/national/international conferences
• Provide services to the academic community
• Provide services to the college
• Provide support to adjunct faculty
• Attend campus and system events and meetings as required
• Pursue professional development opportunities to maintain professional
expertise and proficiencies
• Other duties as assigned
