Dear community,

We are happy to announce the dates and venue for IRIS41 and SCIS9; the 41th Information Systems Research Seminar in Scandinavia and the 9th Scandinavian Conference on Information Systems.

The events take place in Odder, Denmark, from August 5th to August 8th 2018. Call for papers, important dates and other practical information can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/IrisScis2018/ and the conference website: http://www.mgmt.au.dk/iris-scis2018.

IRIS submission deadline April 15th; SCIS submission deadline February 15th.

This year's event theme is Digital adaptation, disruption and survival. Digital innovation implies adaptation, engagement, disruption and survival by means of digital technology. Digital transformation is becoming a business premise, and those who fail to innovate and embrace digital technology will be at a competitive disadvantage. Organizations are looking for ways to keep up with changes in customer demands, technological development, as well as the organizational and managerial implications. Practitioners and researchers are struggling with questions such as: What does “digital transformation”, "digital innovation" and "digital disruption" mean? Which organizations and industries are most affected and how? How does digital technology challenge business models and support new forms of value creation? What kinds of digital technology are accelerating this process? What are the downsides and critical aspects of current development trends? Paper submissions that – broadly defined – speak to the theme of the conference are most welcome. Papers exploring other areas of IS research are also welcome (see http://www.mgmt.au.dk/iris-scis2018).

We look forward to welcoming you and encourage you to submit your research papers.

Scholarships. To support the internationalization of the conference, this year the IRIS association offers scholarships for authors from outside the traditional IRIS countries whose SCIS papers are accepted. A scholarship covers the conference participation and accommodation for one author.

On behalf of the organizing committee,

Sune Dueholm Müller and Jeppe Agger Nielsen
