The College of Engineering and Computing at the University of South Carolina is in the process of expanding its tenured and tenure-track faculty members. As part of this growth, the Department of Integrated Information Technology seeks dynamic new tenured and tenure-track faculty members (at all ranks) for Fall 2018. We also desire candidates whose expertise aligns with vital cross-cutting initiatives identified by the College. In alignment with these initiatives, research themes of particular interest to the Department are those related to Smart & Connected Communities, Transformative Computing, and Healthcare Transformations. We seek expertise especially in the areas of human computer interaction, project management, software development, mobile technologies, cloud computing, virtualization, web development, management of information technology, Internet of Things, health information technology, informatics & data analytics.

Our ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Information Technology (IIT) focuses on selection, creation, application, and integration of information technologies within organizational contexts. In addition to a solid foundation of core competencies, the program emphasizes IT project management, networking, IT security, web development, enterprise systems, and database systems. The department also offers a Masters of Health Information Technology degree in collaboration with the Arnold School of Public Health. The IIT Department is actively involved with the regional business and healthcare communities.  USC is also a founding member of the new South Carolina Cyber Collaboration (SC Cyber).

Applicants should possess an earned doctorate in information technology, information systems, or a related discipline; a demonstrated potential for research with high scholarly impact; a deep understanding of information technology & its application in the workplace; online as well as traditional classroom teaching experience; and a commitment to undergraduate research. University and professional service will be expected, and industry experience is valued. The successful candidate will be expected to develop internationally-recognized, externally-funded research programs that complement existing departmental strengths.
