The HIT-Alibaba Cloud Data Science Academy invites applications for faculty
at different levels (Assistant/Associate/Full/Distinguished Research
Fellow, Leading Scholar and Young Talent).

Founded in 1920, the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) under the
Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, is a key national
university that provides multidisciplinary studies in science and
technology. Together with the Huizhou Municipal Government and Alibaba
Group, HIT has created the HIT-Alibaba Cloud Data Science Academy to
address a wide spectrum of scientific pursuits for data management,
analysis, and interpretation as well as their innovative use to address
important problems in science, engineering, healthcare, business, and other
areas. The HIT-Alibaba Cloud Data Science Academy will advance big data
science methodologies and develop new educational programs that leverage
world-class data science for academic, industry and government education, t
raining and quality certification. Industry engagement programs, e.g., in
cooperation with Alibaba and enterprises in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao
Greater Bay Area, creates opportunities for practice and innovation.

The HIT-Alibaba Cloud Data Science Academy is located in Tong Lake
Ecological Wisdom planning area, Huizhou, Guangdong, China, which is the
geographic center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Tong
Lake Ecological Wisdom planning area is also a green ecological area with
the largest inland freshwater wetland in Guangdong province. A series of
policies and measures proposed by Huizhou municipal governments have
brought unprecedented opportunities for intellectual talents. We are
looking for candidates and experts with strong research background in data
science from statistics, biostatistics and mathematics, computer science
and engineering, information science, and a range of data science intensive
application areas. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in related areas and
have demonstrated evidence of research and teaching excellence. Outstanding
scholars will be recommended as candidates for the One-Thousand-Talent
Program, Changjiang Scholarship, Zhujiang Program, Phoenix Park project,
or/and National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists. We also welcome
leading talents who have already attained high levels of success in their
areas and want to explore a world in data science with long-term or
short-term contracts.
