McDevitt Visiting Assistant Professor of Information Systems
Madden School of Business, Le Moyne College

Le Moyne College, a Jesuit coeducational institution of 2800 undergraduate
and 800 graduate students in Syracuse, New York, solicits applications for
a 2- year McDevitt Visiting Assistant Professor in the Information Systems
(IS) programs in the Madden School of Business beginning in August 2018.
Candidates must teach, must publish discipline-based or basic research in
peer-reviewed journals, and must participate actively in the mission and
processes of the Madden School of Business and of Le Moyne College. Our new
colleague will teach a full (3-3) course load; will publish their scholarly
and intellectual contributions in peer-reviewed journals; will advise
students; will participate in college and school service activities; and
will connect students and the College to professional opportunities and
external organizations.

At Le Moyne College, the McDevitt Center provides unique opportunities for
Le Moyne students to actively lead and engage in scholarly research.
Students are currently pursuing research in autonomous systems, augmented
reality, real-time location system architectures, unstructured and
structured Big Data analysis, health information systems interoperability,
and are studying trust and transparency in next generation technology and
systems. An interest in mentoring and directing McDevitt Information
Systems Research Fellows is required for the McDevitt Visiting Assistant
Professor in Information Systems position.

For the McDevitt Visiting Assistant Information Systems position, a
doctoral degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a closely
related field is required, and candidates must demonstrate ongoing academic
and/or professional engagement activities by participating in (1) scholarly
activities leading to the production of peer-reviewed scholarship, (2)
relevant, active editorships with academic journals or other business
publications, (3) service on editorial boards or committees, and/or (4)
leadership positions, participation in recognized academic societies and
associations, research awards, academic fellow status, and invited
presentations, among other activities.


We are primarily interested in a colleague with teaching and research
interests in enterprise systems, business intelligence, supply chain,
business analytics and/or human-computer interaction. Background or
interest in emerging and growing fields of study, including data science,
marketing analytics, distributed systems, Big Data, structured and
unstructured data analytics, risk management and/or health or accounting
information systems, would be welcomed. A strong interest in undergraduate
and graduate teaching at a liberal arts institution is essential.
