Aalto University School of Science invites applications for Professor of Practice in Information Networks
    
The fixed-term position is for five years, and it will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate has been found.
    
The Aalto University Professor of Practice positions provide respected professionals with an opportunity to develop further existing practices and open new areas of teaching, professional and industrial collaboration and research at Aalto University.
    
This particular position, at the Aalto University School of Science, is located at the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management.
    
The purpose of the professorship is to elevate and develop the interdisciplinary programme of Information Networks that combines computer science, media technology, and industrial engineering and management with a human-centered approach. The holder of the professorship should develop teaching, professional and enterprise activities and collaboration, while also contributing widely to the research activities of the field.
    
The professor is expected to broaden and deepen the knowledge and practice perspectives of Information Networks especially in the areas of digital service design, digital platforms and use of knowledge in digital business networks. This includes development of teaching and establishing and maintaining proactive multidisciplinary collaboration with industrial and academic partners within and outside the Aalto University. Other important tasks of the position include ambitious collaboration with domestic and international businesses and researchers and instilling entrepreneurial spirit to teaching, research and practice.
