About the opportunity
The Discipline of Business Information System (BIS) is a collegial group with an established international reputation for high quality research and for teaching innovations. The Business School is homed in excellent new facilities and well supported with research resources and flexible teaching spaces.
Current Discipline research includes digital disruption and innovation, digital humans, enterprise/platform development in China and Australia, systems interoperability, adaptive/agile project management and design. We are known for examining emergent phenomenon and a willingness to engage with non-traditional perspectives in research. We offer undergraduate and postgraduate units of study and also teach units into specialized programs including the EMBA, MBA, and Interdisciplinary Data Science.
About you
The Discipline of Business Information Systems invites applicants for the position of Associate Professor (Level D) or Senior Lecturer (Level C). As a successful applicant you will contribute to:
*         the research strengths of the School, including competitive research grants and regular publication in top tier international journals
*         the Schools expanding program of professional and industry research collaboration, with a focus on the school's core research areas and existing research groups
*         the effective teaching in Business Information Systems units at undergraduate and postgraduate levels to culturally-diverse student cohorts, curriculum development and the enhancement of teaching methodology
*         the School's engagement with professional bodies in order to develop innovative teaching programs that enhance the student learning experience and their employability
*         the supervision of higher degree research students
*         academic administration and service activities.
To be successful at Level C (Senior Lecturer) you will possess:
*         a PhD in Information Systems
*         an established research record including publications in high quality refereed outlets
*         the ability to supervise business information students at undergraduate and postgraduate level
*         an active research program in any area of Business Information Systems with significant potential for future publication in quality journals
*         a demonstrated IS theoretical and methodological background
*         proven record of application for research funding
*         evidence of engaged research in working with industry and/or government organisations
*         evidence of high quality teaching and demonstrated ability to lead course development at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
*         teaching expertise in areas such as:  Business Intelligence, Visualization, Big Data Infrastructures, Business decision making (big data, little data, no data), Digital Innovation and Technology Management, Social Media, Internet Business, Digital Business, Design Science
*         demonstrated experience in course coordination/administration
*         demonstrated involvement in disciplinary administration, (e.g. through committee work or school roles).
To be successful at Level D (Associate Professor) you will additionally possess:
*         demonstrated international visibility of research influence through publications, editorial/reviewing history; and conference chairing/participation
*         demonstrated history of Faculty/University committee service
*         demonstrated ability to supervise PhD students
*         evidence of curriculum/program development
*         demonstrated record of successful application for research funding.

Our areas of interest include business intelligence, risk management, information governance, enterprise systems, digital commerce, social media, project management, interoperability and sustainability.
Senior Lecturer (Academic Level C): $147,882 to $170,364 p.a. (which includes a base salary $124,962- $144,089 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer's contribution to superannuation).
Associate Professor (Academic Level D): $177,820 to $195,716 p.a. (which includes a base salary $150,462- $165,758 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer's contribution to superannuation).
A salary supplement may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
