We have received several requests to extend the submission deadline for the SIGMIS Computers and People Research conference. The program committee has decided to extend the deadline for full paper submissions and the deadline for research in progress (posters), doctoral consortium and student research competition to SUNDAY FEBRUARY 4, 2018 (11:59PM EST). So, if you missed our initial submission deadline for full papers, there is still a chance to submit for the 2018 conference!

We have also received a number of questions from prospective authors in the last week and I wanted to share some of these questions and answers:

Q1. WHAT TOPICS ARE ACCEPTABLE?

A: We seek a wide range of papers on issues at the intersection of information technology and people such as IT leadership, adoption, use, inclusion and workforce. We also have a theme track related to healthcare IT. The full call for papers (http://sigmis.org/sigcpr2018/cfp2018/) provides more detail on potential topics related to the theme track. We want to reiterate that all of the traditional SIGMIS CPR topics remain of interest for the conference!

Q2. WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF ORIGINAL WORK, AND ARE ALL PAPERS PUBLISHED IN THE PROCEEDINGS?

A: In order to encourage broad participation from scholars working at the intersection of IT and people, we consider all papers that are not published elsewhere. This may include work under review, so long as the work will not be published before the conference dates in June. Authors have the choice to publish either the full paper or only an extended abstract.

Q3. THE CFP SAYS PAPER SUBMISSIONS SHOULD BE WITHOUT AUTHOR NAMES, BUT THE TEMPLATE INCLUDES AUTHOR NAMES. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

A: Please submit the paper without author names to facilitate blind review.

Q4. I HAVE ALREADY SUBMITTED MY PAPER. CAN I MAKE CHANGES?

A: The EasyChair submission system allows changes to be made to papers any time up to the final deadline.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact any member of the program committee (Benoit Aubert, Deborah Compeau, Monideepa Tarafdar).
