The School of Information Technology in the College of Applied Science and Technology seeks a distinguished scholar at the Associate Professor or Professor rank to fill a nine-month, tenured appointment as the State Farm Endowed Chair in Cybersecurity to begin August 16, 2018. Qualified candidates must have an earned Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely-related field. The Endowed Chair will provide a leadership role for the Cybersecurity program, with time reassigned each semester from classroom teaching to coordinate the curriculum, mentor students and colleagues, represent the program to on-campus and external partners, pursue an independent scholarly agenda, and provide leadership related to research and creative activity. The primary teaching need is at the undergraduate level, but some graduate instruction is possible. All candidates are expected to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills. For teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position. Salary is competitive and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

The qualified candidate must demonstrate commitment to and have an established record of both scholarly teaching and high quality, refereed research in the fields of cybersecurity or information assurance. The School emphasizes balanced excellence in innovative instruction and research. Coordinating and mentoring undergraduate and Master's student research is part of the balanced excellence. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining the School's designation as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE/CD). No less important, the successful candidate will also maintain strong relationships with industry partners, and obtain grants.
