Probationary Tenure-Track Assistant Professor – Information Systems (Business Analytics)

Job Summary
The Goodman School of Business, Brock University invites applications for a probationary tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor in Information Systems with a focus in Business Analytics, starting July 1, 2018. Candidates should have demonstrated the potential for conducting high quality research and teaching in Business Analytics, Big Data, Data Science, and related areas in the business domain.

Qualifications
Brock University seeks a candidate with a strong commitment to excellence in scholarly research and teaching in the areas of Business Analytics, Big Data, Data Science, and related areas. The position entails developing and sustaining high-quality teaching and learning environments for students and conducting rigorous academic research with relevance to a managerial audience. Teaching experience with business intelligence and data analytics software packages and tools in the business domain is desirable. It is expected that the applicants have potential to publish in top-tier information systems and related journals. Position level and salary are commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications. A doctoral degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Applied Computing, or closely related field is required (completed or near completion).

About the Department of Finance, Operations, and Information Systems (FOIS)
The Department of Finance, Operations, and Information Systems (FOIS) has 22 full-time faculty members and is one of four departments within the Goodman School of Business, which has approximately 100 full-time members. The Information systems area offers an MBA stream in Business Analytics and an undergraduate stream in Information Systems. The IS discipline also participates in the thesis-focused MSc. Program at Goodman School. Recent graduates with an MSc. in Information Systems have joined leading Universities for doctoral studies or have found research-focused positions in the industry.

The Goodman School of Business, named for respected business leader Ned Goodman, is AACSB accredited and offers graduate and undergraduate programs in business and accounting. Goodman is a collaborative environment and home to many celebrated faculty members who are both innovative researchers and exemplary teachers.
