Call for Paper Notes: IFIP Working Group 9.4 Masters and Doctoral Symposium
(Social Implications of Computing in Developing Countries)

 

Date: 22 August 2018, Tshwane (South Africa)

 

Theme: Locally Relevant Application of Theory

 

Keynote: Prof Geoff Walsham - Succeeding in Arguing/Justifying your
Application of Theory

 

This M&D Symposium is co-located with the International Development
Informatics Association (IDIA) conference on 23-24 August 2018 at La'Wiida
Lodge & Conference Centre (http://www.lawiidalodge.co.za/). We are aiming to
develop promising young researchers and support them with their research in
progress, to improve papers for submission to other conferences or journals.
Notably the IFIP 9.4 conference in 2019 or specialist ICT4D tracks. We hope
to receive submissions based on extracts from Masters and PhD
work-in-progress. To contribute to this process, two workshops related to
research methodologies and writing for publication will also be conducted.

 

**Submission deadline: April 30, 2018 

 

The registration fee for the postgraduate symposium attendance is R500. The
postgraduate symposium is open to postgraduate students only. All travel and
accommodation expenses are the responsibility of the participant.

 

Note: All individual members of IFIP member societies plus all members of
IFIP Technical Committees and Working Groups are entitled to a discount of
10% on registration fees. To claim the discount delegates need to state
which IFIP member society, Technical Committee or Working Group they belong
to.
