The *Institute for Information Systems and New Media* is currently
inviting applications for an
*ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, non-tenure track**position*
or two
*Teaching and Research Associate**positions*
30 hours/week
*Area of responsibility:*
The assistant professor position is offered to applicants who are
interested to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses and contribute
to achievements of the department goals which include the continuing
development of professional knowledge and skills in Information Systems.
The teaching assistant positions are offered to applicants who wish to
complete a Ph.D. thesis at the Institute for Information Systems and New
Media. We are offering an interesting environment that promotes
independent work, allows technical and human qualities to mature but
expect as well the taking responsibility for organizational work.
The research of the Institute is focused on building information systems
addressing the needs of the next decade. We focus on the shift of system
developers from classical analyst/programmer/testers roles towards
domain experts who are directly involved in shaping the system to
fulfill their professional duties. These systems have to support
continuous development and evolution. For these tasks it is essential to
analyze the data they produce as well as the (social) network
interactions in these systems.
*Your Profile:*
Applicants for the Assistant Professor position must have a doctoral(or
PhD) degree in one of the following subjects: information systems,
computer science, or an equivalent qualification. We expect prior
research qualification in the areas internet based information systems,
E-Learning, network analysis, information security or software
development with international publications in these areas. Furthermore,
applicants are expected to have teaching experiences.
Applicants for the Ph.D. positions must have a master's (or diploma)
degree in one of the following subjects: information systems, computer
science, or business administration with a focus on business
informatics. Applicants are expected to have interest to work in the
research areas of the Institute. Prior knowledge in the areas internet
based information systems, E-Learning, network analysis, information
security or software development is expected.
All applicants must be able to demonstrate exceptional analytical and
conceptual skills. They must be fluent in written and spoken English and
should ideally possess knowledge about system development.
- Teaching and Research Associate:
Gross monthly salary, paid 14 times per year: € 2.095,95
(recognition of previous employment possible).
- Assistant Professor:
Gross monthly salary, paid 14 times per year: € 3.711,10.
The position will be temporary limited until Sept 30, 2023, starting on
April 1, 2018 (commencement date subject to change).
