INFORSID 2018 - WORKSHOPS

Nantes (France)28 - 31 May 2018

Information Systems for Digital Humanities

The aim of this workshop is to explore the contribution, purposes, and
limits of the use of information systems methods in digital humanities.
The workshop will bring together scholars from different disciplines
with a shared interest in the contribution of information systems
methods to digital humanities, in particular in prosopographical research.

One aim of the workshop is to explore the relationship between the
fields of Information Systems and Digital Humanities. We call for
contributions which investigate:

(i)The application of information technology in the humanities.
Contributions are solicited on humanities computing, i.e. the
computer-based study of various humanities disciplines.

(ii)The ways to enhance information systems by interweaving methods from
the humanities. Contributions are solicited on “humanities-enriched
computing”, i.e. humanities approaches towards various aspects of
computing and IS.

A particular aim is to solicit contributions on prosopographical
information systems used in certain kinds of historical research as well
as in humanities. The workshop is thus designed as an opportunity to
discuss historiographical and methodological approaches to the use of
prosopography in humanities

We seek for original submissions that contribute novel approaches,
solutions, methods, languages, and applications on the following topics
(partial list):

•IS and Language

•IS and History

•IS and Art

•IS and Philosophy

•IS and Law

•IS using Humanities-based approaches

•Humanities-based approaches using IS

•Prosopographical approaches

•Prosopographical databases

•Case studies of IS for Humanities

•Case studies of Humanities for IS

•Case studies of prosopography.

All submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by at least 2 workshop
committee members. Accepted and presented papers will appear in the
workshop proceedings. Extended versions of accepted papers will be
invited for potential publication in Ingénierie des Systèmes
d’Information (ISI) journal. Submissions must respect the
Hermès-Lavoisier model, model of the INFORSID conference, with a number
of pages between 6 and 16 pages: (Word template, LaTeX template).
Articles must be submitted in PDF format and sent by email to
jacky.akoka at lecnam.net
