We have exciting news to share about our upcoming "pre-ECIS Workshop on Technology Matters and Matters of Technology" (http://ecis2018.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/WS_proposal_final.pdf).
We are most happy to announce that Professor Lucas Introna (Lancaster University) will give the keynote at the workshop!
In addition to the stimulating keynote, the workshop will include a panel entitled: What to do with all this material(ity)?
To add a highly practical discussion to the workshop, the panel's objective is to translate abstract ideas of theorizing materiality into concrete research experiences. Each of the panelists will share his/her insights about applying theories of materiality in their exploration of IS phenomena. By describing and reflecting on their efforts to take materiality seriously, the panelists seek to stimulate diffractive understandings of materialism in IS research, as well as new becomings of theories, knowledge, and ourselves through intra-acting with the audience.
Chair: Gijs van den Heuvel (Tilburg University)
Panelists: Mads Bødker (Copenhagen Business School), Ole Hanseth (University of Oslo), Marko Niemimaa (University of Jyvaskyla) & Ulrike Schultze (Southern Methodist University)
We hope to see you at the workshop. Submission deadline is 13 April, 2018 (we welcome both extended abstracts (max 1500 words) and short papers (five pages)). Registration is through the ECIS website (http://ecis2018.eu).
