The School runs an extensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and is home to the internationally-recognised Whitaker Institute for Innovation and Societal Change.

The Business Information Systems (BIS) Discipline is recognised nationally and internationally for excellence in research and teaching through scholarly contribution to academia, industry and contributing to the wider society. The BIS Discipline consistently ranks in the top 150 universities in the world in Information Systems, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject (Computer Science and Information Systems). The Discipline incorporates the Lero Research Centre at NUIG, winner of the 2018 TCSE Distinguished Synergy Award by the IEEE Computer Society Technical Council on Software Engineering (TCSE). The Discipline offers two taught masters programmes: the MSc in Business Analytics and the MSc in Information Systems Management. The Discipline also delivers a four-year B.Sc. BIS degree that was awarded the prestigious EPAS accreditation in 2011 by the European Foundation of Management Development.

The person(s) appointed should have teaching, examining and research supervision experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level in BIS. Preference will be given to those with research and/or teaching experience in Business Analytics.
