The Information Technology (IT) Area at the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia is seeking applications for up to three full-time tenure track faculty positions (open rank) beginning August 2019.

Candidates must have a Ph.D., and an evidence of progressing toward a strong record of research, and excellence in teaching and service. The strongest candidates will have: 1) expertise in contemporary research practices, 2) demonstrated the ability (or potential) to publish articles in A-level IS journals, 3) some level of practical business experience, and 4) the ability (or potential) to make significant internal service contributions.

Candidates with interests in: 1) teaching topics related to business analytics, 2) teaching project/product management and IT innovation, and/or 3) research in cybersecurity are encouraged to apply, although all teaching and research areas will be considered.

Currently, the McIntire School of Commerce (http://www.commerce.virginia.edu) awards a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, a Master of Science in the Management of Information Technology, a Master of Science in Business Analytics, a Master of Science in Accounting, and a Master of Science in Commerce and Global Commerce. McIntire is recognized for excellence and innovation in undergraduate and graduate business education and scholarship. In various annual rankings of undergraduate and graduate business programs, including U.S. News, Business Week, and The Economist, the McIntire School of Commerce is routinely ranked in the top ten.

McIntire serves over 650 undergraduates and 300 graduate students. Undergraduate students enter the McIntire School in their third year at the University and concentrate in at least one of six fields: accounting, finance, information technology, international business, management and/or marketing. The major professional services firms (e.g., accounting, consulting, IT services, and investment banks) and Fortune 500 corporations actively recruit McIntire graduates. McIntire is located in a new 156,000 square foot academic complex on the Lawn in the heart of UVA's historic Central Grounds, designed by Thomas Jefferson. Charlottesville is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is consistently rated highly as a desirable location to live.
     
McIntire faculty members have received numerous regional, and national, and discipline-level awards for their research and service. They also serve as members of editorial review boards and as editors of leading journals in their fields. IT Area scholars include Ahmed Abbasi, Jennifer Claggett, Peter Gray, Stefano Grazioli, Steven Johnson, Brent Kitchens, Jingjing Li, Chris Maurer, Ryan Nelson, Saonee Sarker, Suprateek Sarker, and Ryan Wright.
