*The Management Information Systems (MIS) department in the Fowler College
of Business at San Diego State University (SDSU) invites applications for
multiple tenure-track positions in MIS at the assistant or associate
professor level*.

The appointments begin in August 2019 and are contingent on state funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  We are
seeking candidates with a teaching and research interest in the following
areas:

*Data Management / Cybersecurity*: The person holding this position will be
responsible for developing and teaching graduate and undergraduate courses
in information systems with a particular focus on data management and
cybersecurity.

*Systems Development*: The person holding this position will be responsible
for developing and teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in
information systems with a particular focus on systems analysis and design,
business application programming, and web development.

Qualified applicants will have a doctoral-level degree in information
systems or a related discipline by August 2019, demonstrated potential for
teaching excellence, and high-quality research commensurate with experience.
  Candidates should have a solid foundation of information systems
curriculum knowledge (e.g. systems analysis and design, data management,
networks, programming, security, etc.)  A record of grant funded research
is required for a position at the associate professor level.

The MIS department is a multidisciplinary department, which includes ten
full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members in the areas of
information systems, data science, and supply-chain management.  MIS
faculty are active in high-impact research.  Recent accomplishments include
funded research in cybersecurity by the U.S. Navy and the development of
the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab that supports multi-sensory (e.g.,
audio, eye-tracking, computer vision) experiments, data collections, and
system development research in the areas of AI, affective computing, big
data, virtual reality, cyber and physical security.  MIS faculty publish in
leading business journals such as *Journal of MIS*, *MIS Quarterly*, *Journal
of the AIS*, and the *Journal of Econometrics*.  Our research and faculty
have been featured in outlets such as *The Guardian*, *Washington Post*, *Los
Angeles Times*, *Bloomberg BNA*, *HBO* and *Wired*.  The MIS department has
active partnerships within the Fowler College and throughout the SDSU
campus in areas such as Accountancy, Statistics, and Homeland Security
among others.

The MIS department offers the Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration (BSBA) – Information Systems Major, Master of Science in
Information Systems (MSIS), and MBA specializations in supply-chain
management, information systems, and project management.

The Fowler College of Business enrolls approximately 5,500 undergraduate
business majors and about 500 graduate students pursuing the MBA, MSIS, and
MSA degrees.  The Fowler College of Business is accredited by AACSB (since
1959) and has over 52,000 alumni.

Founded in 1897, San Diego State University is a dynamic public research
