The Department of Management at Marquette University invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Information Systems starting August 2019 (Associate Professors with strong fit may be considered).

Applicants should hold a Ph.D., or be close to completing one, in Information Systems or closely related disciplines. They should have strong methodological training, demonstrated potential for publication in top journals, and excellent teaching and communication skills.

The new faculty member is expected to be active in research, teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, and interfacing with the industry through advisory boards, networking events, and other interactions. Candidates should have experience in teaching core IS courses but should have expertise in areas such as technology and innovation, analytics, and emergent areas such as Blockchain, IoT, and AI. The new faculty member will also be involved in design and support of any new undergraduate programs related to IS as well as online and hybrid graduate programs. As such, experience with online teaching will be given preference. Candidates must demonstrate a strong publication record and potential for continued research with impact.

Marquette University is located in Milwaukee, a vibrant and diverse business services area with 10 Fortune 500 companies, many of which have strong partnerships with the university. The Straz College of Business is AACSB-accredited and offers 11 undergraduate majors and 7 minors, the MBA, Executive MBA, and a variety of specialized MS degrees and certificates. The college is launching a fully online MBA and MS in Supply Chain Management in Fall 2018. The Management department in the college offers four undergraduate majors (Information Systems, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, and Entrepreneurship) and three master's degrees.

The IS area delivers a highly applied and experiential undergraduate major, and a related minor, that prepares IS students for roles that are in high-demand. The program has a strong record of student placement with over 91% of IS majors receiving full-time offers and graduate school admissions within 3 months of graduation. The students benefit from our deep industry and alumni relationships. The undergraduate IS major has been steadily growing. As such, the college is looking for a candidate who can work with existing IS faculty to continue to innovate in and grow the IS area.

Updated CV and cover letter should be submitted to Dr. Terence Ow at terence.ow at marquette.edu no later than August 3rd, 2018. Applicants should also upload their CV, cover letter, and any reference letters currently available to http://employment.marquette.edu/postings/10097. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview with the search committee at AMCIS (August 16th-18th).
