[AISWorld] IFIP 8.2 Officers: Call for Nominations

We are inviting nominations - including self-nominations - for IFIP 8.2 members to join the IFIP 8.2 leadership team. This call for nominations closes on Sept 15, 2018.

The IFIP 8.2 leadership team consists of 3 positions through which an officer progresses: secretary, vice-chair, and chair. Each position is held for a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 years. IFIP 8.2 has not instituted a clear division of labor among the three roles, but key tasks include:

-        Identifying and supporting hosts and organizers of IFIP 8.2 working conferences and OASIS meetings

-        Chairing IFIP 8.2 business meetings

-        Communicating with the IFIP 8.2 community via our website and listserv

-        Reporting to IFIP

-        Managing the IFIP 8.2 budget

-        Recruiting new officers ;-)

Officers are elected.  The IFIP 8.2 membership will vote on a new Secretary later this fall. As of December 2018, the Secretary will join Eija Karstens (incoming Chair) and Matthew Jones (incoming Vice-Chair) to form the new IFIP 8.2 leadership team.

Nominees should:

-        Be IFIP 8.2 member

-        Have a record of involvement in the IFIP 8.2 community, e.g., participation in IFIP 8.2 working conferences and OASIS workshops as author, reviewer, mentor, chair or organizer; attendance in IFIP 8.2 business meetings

-        Be committed to energizing and growing the IFIP 8.2 community
