*Special Issue Information*
Dear Colleagues,

Cultural heritage is the legacy and the archive of mankind's identity, an
account of peoples' advancement and achievement through time. The assorted
variety in this legacy is enormously rich and mirrors the extravagance of
human development through the ages. Cultural heritage can be said that it
encodes knowledge, which in turn renders it a profound wellspring of
learning. In the entirety of its structures, either tangible or not, it has
been perceived as a valuable element and, thus, noteworthy endeavors and
assets have been apportioned to its protection and interpretation. Natural
sciences and engineering have contributed over the ongoing decades, in such
an amount that the fringes among science and art in this domain began to
obscure. This area is now a wide field of research with noteworthy
advancements for various research questions, including digitization,
documentation, examination, visualization, interpretation, dissemination,
learning, storytelling, administration and sustainability.

Perceiving the cross-disciplinary elements in this area, this special issue
centers around the use of engineering and data innovation in the aid of
cultural heritage and its sustainability.
