The School of Business Administration at Gonzaga University (Spokane, Washington, USA) invites candidates for a full-time, tenure track appointment as an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems (MIS) beginning in the fall of 2019  (August 27, 2019).  The successful candidate is expected to take part in teaching, professional development, academic citizenship and service and advising as specified below, as per the Faculty Handbook requirements for all faculty.
Required Functions:
Teaching -- The faculty member is expected to teach 9 credits each semester during the academic year at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Summer teaching duties are not required nor guaranteed.

Professional Development -- The faculty member will remain current with MIS theory and practice and be active in the professional field of MIS. The faculty member will be an active scholar, producing peer-reviewed publications within the discipline of MIS.
Academic Citizenship & Service -- The Assistant Professor is a member of the faculty of the School of Business Administration, with full voting privileges in the faculty assembly and the school, and as such is expected to be a contributive member of the Discipline of Management Information Systems, the school, and the university.  Attendance at university, school and departmental meetings is expected.  In addition, participation on related school and departmental committees is required.

Advising -- There are no advising requirements for first-year faculty, but will become part of the individual’s duties following a successful first year.

Required Qualifications:

  *   Ph.D. in Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field – ABD considered with the expectation the candidate will have degree in hand by August 1, 2019.

·         Being able to teach one or more of the following courses:  Introduction to IS, Database Management, Fundamental Concepts of Programming, Systems Analysis and Design, or Business Analytics

·         Strong commitment to inclusive excellence in both scholarship and teaching

·         Willingness to advance the mission of the University and School of Business Administration

·         Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse, collegial environment

Preferred qualifications:

·         Demonstrated experiences in one or more of courses listed above.

·         Demonstrated ability teaching graduate level core classes in MIS.

·         Have a robust research agenda.
