Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Information Systems/Supply Chain Management/Data Analytics

Applications are invited from a suitably qualified candidate for the position of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer.

The Department of Business Information Systems (BIS), within AUT's Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, is a dynamic group of academics that actively engages in scholarly conversations and has a passion for teaching. We have an established PhD programme, offer a Masters' degree specialisation and oversee the information systems major as well as the supply chain management and data analytics minors in the Bachelor of Business degree, which focuses on social impact. We conduct research on different aspects of information systems and supply chain management, such as IT governance, ICT for wellbeing and development, IT outsourcing, connectivity, the circular economy and sustainable supply chains, among others.

We are seeking a candidate who has a commitment to excellence in teaching and an interesting research platform. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate their dedication to teaching activities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Experience in innovative teaching practices will be an advantage. The ideal candidate should be able to teach courses in information systems, in supply chain management and/or data analytics. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to engage in rigorous and relevant research that produces publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals; candidates for the Senior Lecturer position must have a proven, solid research record of high quality publications with important theoretical contribution in reputable peer-reviewed journals. Most importantly, we seek individuals who act with integrity, practise collegiality and respect students and stakeholders.

Qualifications: A PhD (or close to completion) in information systems or related discipline, a demonstrated ability to conduct high quality research and evidence of excellence in teaching - or the ability to develop such excellence. Applicants should submit a cover letter, a CV, a one-page research statement, a one-page teaching statement and evidence of teaching effectiveness, if applicable. The successful candidate would ideally be able to join the BIS team in February 2019.
