Proposals for prototype demonstrations are invited for submission to the Pre-ICIS 2018 SIGDSA Symposium. Aligned with the Symposium theme of Decision Analytics Connecting People, Data, and Things, we seek prototype demonstration proposals related to business intelligence, big data analytics, cognitive analytics, social media analytics, machine learning, IoT analytics, data science, visualization, or other emerging analytic technologies.

Prototypes could be related to research as well as teaching applications. Examples of such prototypes could be (but not limited to) original web application, visualization application, mobile app, a functional analytics model, devices (e.g., Internet of Things (IoT)) connected to data science applications, teaching games that have an integrated study or analytics component. Prototypes demonstrating connectivity between people and “things” on the basis of meaningful data analytics are especially welcome. Prototypes may also highlight novel applications in one or more business sectors, e.g., financial services, manufacturing, retail, pharmaceutical, healthcare, government, agribusiness, hospitality and entertainment, supply chain, etc. Prototype demonstrations showcasing innovative methodological developments or applications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, text mining, and other data analytics/decision support techniques are encouraged. Prototypes should highlight aspects such as novelty, architecture, functioning, and ongoing/future work.

This high visibility category is different from paper presentation category and provides an opportunity to display a working artifact to an audience in an interactive manner. Prototype demonstrations will involve a poster display (printed or electronic) and/or live demonstration of prototype to the attendees.

Submission and Publication Guidelines

Prototype proposals should be limited to two (2) single-spaced pages in length (or 800 words). In addition to the Title, Abstract, and Keywords, the proposal should contain only one or two sections describing the prototype to be showcased, highlighting the key features and novelty. Submission type should be mentioned in the submission as Prototype Demonstration.

All original submissions and camera-ready versions must conform to the submission template. Download the submission template here<https://preicis2018sigdsa.files.wordpress.com/2018/06/sigdsa2018_submission_template.docx>. Original submissions must not contain any author information. Upon acceptance, camera-ready version of the manuscript must contain author information, as mentioned in the submission template.

Papers will be submitted through Conferency submission system (submitting author needs to create an account to submit the paper):
