[AISWorld] Cybersecurity position

As part of a university-wide cluster initiative in cybersecurity, the Information Technology (IT) Area in the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position with open rank, beginning August 2019. 

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field in hand by the start date of the appointment. Also, candidates must have evidence of progressing to a record of strong research, teaching, and service. The strongest candidates will have: 1) expertise in contemporary research practices and interest in topics such as online security, privacy, trust, credibility, bias, and/or related cyber areas. 2) demonstrated potential to publish articles in A-level IS journals, 3) ability to teach courses related to project management and/or data analytics, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, 4) some level of practical business experience, and 5) the interest in and potential to make internal service contributions.

Currently, the McIntire School of Commerce (http://www.commerce.virginia.edu) awards a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, and Master of Science degrees in the Management of Information Technology, Business Analytics, Commerce, Accounting, and Global Commerce. McIntire is recognized for excellence and innovation in undergraduate and graduate business education and scholarship. In various annual rankings of undergraduate and graduate business programs, including U.S. News, Business Week, and The Economist, the McIntire School of Commerce is routinely ranked in the top ten. 

This position is part of the University of Virginia’s cybersecurity cluster hire program. The initiative is designed to foster pan-university leadership and excellence in cybersecurity research and education across the university.
