The IT department at HEC Montreal (http://www.hec.ca/en/it) is hiring an assistant, associate or full professor in User Experience (UX) or a related field such as human-computer interaction: http://emplois-corps-professoral.hec.ca/job.php?id=620

Interviews will be organized with prospective candidates at Int. Conference on IS (San Francisco), via Skype or videoconference in November or December 2018.

The recruiting committee is composed of Prof. Pierre-Majorique Léger (Chair, NSERC-Prompt Industrial Research Chair in User Experience – UX Chair – http://chaire_ux.hec.ca/), Prof. Camille Grange, Prof. Marc Fredette (Co-investigator, UX Chair) and the head of the IT Department, Prof. Gilbert Babin.

The IT department currently has 17 faculty members. It hosts three research chairs (UX Chair, Research Chair in Digital Health, Research Chair in Strategic Management of Information Technology), four research professorships, and several active research groups (Research Group on Information Systems, ERPsim Lab, and Tech3Lab). Our faculty includes current and former editors of top journals including MISQ, JAIS, EJIS, ISR, JMIS, JSIS and Organization Studies. We offer a large range of programs:

• IT major in the undergraduate Bachelor of Commerce
• Graduate diplomas in business analysis, e-business and UX
• IT option in the MBA program
• IT courses in Executive Education Programs
• Masters of Science (M.Sc.) in UX
• Masters of Science (M.Sc.) in IT

HEC’s world-class Tech3Lab is the most important UX lab in North America (https://tech3lab.hec.ca/en). The Tech3Lab is an applied laboratory in HCI and NeuroIS specializing in the analysis of interactions between technological interfaces in organizations and their employees or customers. The Tech3Lab has 8 experimental rooms and 22 associated researchers from different research fields.

The mission of NSERC-Prompt Industrial Research Chair in User Experience (http://chaire_ux.hec.ca/en/) is to gain a thorough understanding, to compile accurate UX measurements as well as to create the technological innovations needed to accelerate and enrich UX research.

Applicants for a position of professor must have a Ph.D., or be near completion of a Ph.D. in UX or a related field such as management information systems and human-computer interaction. They must demonstrate a strong aptitude for research, a marked interest for publication, and good teaching skills. Candidates for a position of associate or full professor must have an excellent publication record and show teaching excellence. All candidates must have a very good knowledge of technological environments and of software applications commonly used in organizations. We encourage candidates with research experience in NeuroIS to apply.

HEC Montreal is recognized as a world leader in business education. The main language of instruction is French; however, there are several programs and courses offered in English and in Spanish. Although knowledge of French is not a prerequisite, faculty are expected to be able to teach and work in French after 2 years (and are provided with ample support to help them reach this objective). It is highly recommended to mention any prior knowledge of French or a related language in your application file.  Standard teaching load at HEC Montreal is 4/year. Teaching load is reduced in the first two years for those who are learning French.
