**The Role**
We are inviting top early career academics to apply for a continuing position at the Lecturer level. The position will be based in the Department of Computing, Faculty of Science and Engineering with close interactions with the Cyber Security Hub. The successful candidate will contribute to the research in cyber security at Macquarie University, in existing areas of excellence such as privacy preserving technologies, human-centric security (including next generation authentication techniques), cyber physical systems security and applications of AI in Cyber Security. The appointee will also contribute to the design and delivery of new cyber security units featured in a Bachelor of Cyber Security offered from 2020 as well as administrative and other academic activities within the Department of Computing.

You will have completed a PhD in cyber security or a closely related computing discipline. You will enjoy driving innovation and excellence in teaching and bringing impactful research outcomes. You will have a strong background in security, privacy, data mining, machine learning or computer networks, as well as be able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary research team. * A PhD in cyber security or a closely related discipline such as Computer science, computer networking, or distributed systems.
* Demonstrated publications in top-tier peer reviewed journals and/or conferences in security, privacy, data mining, machine learning or computer networks.
* Demonstrated research activities fitted in the core areas of cyber security and preferably aligned with the existing areas of excellence which are privacy preserving technologies, human-centric security and cyber physical systems security.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills in the preparation of high-quality reports, presentations, and publications;
* Demonstrated academic knowledge in the discipline and a commitment and capability to deliver high quality learning and teaching in the core areas of cyber security, including the design, delivery, and management of lectures, tutorials, and assessment;
* An excellent track record in attracting nationally competitive and/or industry research funding;
* Proven ability to successfully attract and supervise research students;
* A solid track record of working effectively as part of a team, preferably within a multi-disciplinary team, and the ability to make useful contribution to the academic life and administrative tasks of the Department.
