Position as PhD Research Fellowship in Information Systems available at the Department of Informatics.
The fellowship period is up to 4 years, with 3 years devoted to research education. The position entails a compulsory work load of 25% that consists of teaching and supervision duties and research assistance.

The PhD project is expected to further strengthen the Health Information Systems Programme (HISP) group's expertise in the area of global public goods (GPG) digital innovation platforms for development. While the candidate and the supervisors will decide on the ultimate focus of the PhD project jointly, relevant examples of application areas would likely include District Health Information System (DHIS2) applications in one or several East Asian and African countries.

The HISP Group at UiO conducts research on a range of DHIS2 topics like governance, scaling, interoperability and more. While the research profile of the group is social science oriented (including aspects of identity, social capital and more), the HISP projects combine the design and implementation aspects of a digital innovation platform with global coverage implying considerations of platform governance, architecture, regulation and social responsibility.

:: Qualification requirements
- Applicants must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Information Systems 
- existing knowledge and experience in information security is desirable
- fluent oral and written communication skills in English

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has a strategic ambition of being a leading research faculty. Candidates for these fellowships will be selected in accordance with this, and expected to be in the upper segment of their class with respect to academic credentials.

The purpose of the fellowship is research training leading to the successful completion of a PhD degree.
