Call for Book Chapters

Big Data Analytics in Healthcare

Springer Series: Studies in Big Data (Link<https://www.springer.com/series/11970>)

Purpose and Scope:

Voluminous and ever growing multimodal information is hidden in the healthcare research data available with the hospitals, medical practitioners & allied service agencies. Extraction of useful information, hidden patterns, correlations, predictions, etc. from within as well as solving associated complex workforce management problems remains a challenge. The classical statistical solution approaches may not be able to classify and analyze the complex and multimodal data. The problem complexity may further increase when the data is fuzzy, incomplete and noisy. In addition, the traditional optimization methods may not be able solve the problems with increased complexity in reasonable amount of time. Heuristics and Metaheuristics may provide near optimal solutions to data selection, feature selection, classification, etc. in reasonable computational cost. The prominent metaheuristics could be from within swarm intelligence based methods, evolutionary algorithms, socio-inspired methods, etc. These methods have proven their superiority in terms of solution quality and computational time over the traditional methods for solving a wide variety of problem classes. It is because, the metaheuristics are quite flexible in terms of the adaptability to modifications and supportive techniques which may improve their problem-solving capability.

We invite contributions associated with novel as well as modified heuristics and metaheurstics along with its validation by solving complex big data problems associated with healthcare. The book also aims to discuss multifaceted and state-of-the-art literature survey associated with the healthcare data, their modalities, complexities and methodologies along with a complete mathematical formulation. The contributions may further help to explore new research avenues leading towards multidisciplinary research discussions.
